Meebox Sep’17 Review

It finally came! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this box because being a British Punjabi myself, I was excited for everyone to have a bit of the culture I grew up from.

Let’s jingle straight into it:

  1. Leighton Denny: Nothing But Sand 12ml (£12.00)
  2. Models Own: Petunia Glitz GliterGel (£4.99)
  3. Lauren B Beauty: Ivy At The Shore ($18.00)
  4. Little Ondine: Secret Peel-Off Basecoat (£9.99)
  5. Karizma London: Metallic Henna Tattoos

Money was very well spent this month, with so many goodies to play with. Feels like Christmas each time I get the box.

Nothing But Sand

This colour just reminds me of the gold sequins and gems on my suits (Indian dresses) and this is one of my all time favourite colours. It is so ‘in your face’ that it just screams likability. A colour that holds various meanings and concepts from gold to summer. This can be worn during every season with the right outfit. This season, wear this with burgundy for that perfect autumn mani.

I applied this within two even coats and I got the perfect coverage. The polish is the perfect consistency to glide on in one dip (of the bottle). I can imagine this would polish great due to the thickness.

At £12.00 a bottle, I would happily pay this. You’re technically paying a £1.00 a ml but the polish lasts ages! I’ve collected a few Leighton Denny polishes and they’re still going strong.

Petunia Glitz

If you have been following me, you’ll know I am not a big fan of Models Own. I just don’t think the polishes are of great quality compared to someone like Barry M.

This colour pops and the glitter is subtle and shines in the light. You definitely have to apply 3 layers to get a good coverage but I find Models Own to have a slowish dry time. So you can be waiting awhile.

I find the brushes are too chunky for my nails, I personally prefer thinner brushes. BUT, like I say, this is all my own opinion and how I honestly feel about all the products.

Meebox introduced me to this amazing brand, Lauren B Beauty, and I adore them so much. I love love love their products! They are on the pricey side but the quality mimics the price.

I don’t know what it is but everything about this colour makes me feel happy. This is an amazing autumn colour and works great with the theme. The metallic sheen gives a beautiful two-tone effect and I love it. It reminds me of a pearlescent mix.

I had this full coverage in 2 coats and as always, the brush is thin and I have all the control. For me, I need the control because my nails are so narrow, I need to have precision to avoid a big clean-up.

I recommend buying this polish for this season. It fits perfectly.

Little Ondine Secret.jpg

Secret Peel-Off Basecoat

This basecoat makes it super easy to remove polish without using acetone or nail polish remover. With an application of this under a mani, you can peel this off in seconds.

I haven’t yet tried this but I do have a couple of their other polishes and that honestly wasn’t my favourite, but that was a glitter polish. This should be good and I will be sure to update you guys on it.

I’m a fan of true mendhi (henna) and although I like the idea of these, as a true Indian, I wouldn’t replace mendhi for these. I’d maybe copy the design? But I will use these for sure, maybe for a wedding?

The glitter is so pretty! I used it on my gels that I did and because it is so fine in texture, it settles so well onto the polish. The one thing I would recommend is to use a different brush for the topcoat, NOT the original one as glitter will stick to it.

That’s it for this box guys, I hope you enjoyed reading and be sure to check out my unboxing video! My mani with this box is currently on hold due to having to cut nails super short and they became weak. So I may do it next week!

Let me know your thoughts on this box and be sure to follow me on Instagram!
